Why This Publication Exists

Editorial observation over prescriptive instruction.

Drenvak Notebook began as a personal documentation project. The founding editor, Adam Rahman, had spent several years accumulating notes on the intersections of daily habit, physical output, and subjective wellbeing — not from the perspective of a wellness authority, but from the perspective of a working man in his thirties attempting to understand what actually changed when he changed his routines.

The notes accumulated. The patterns became visible. The decision to publish them as an editorial journal was motivated not by a belief that one man's observations constitute universal advice — they do not — but by a conviction that honest, first-person documentation of habit and outcome is more useful to other men than the confident prescriptions that dominate most wellness content.

The publication has since expanded to include contributing writers, a growing evidence base drawn from published wellness research, and a specific focus on the Malaysian context: the food culture, the climate, the working patterns, and the traditional wellness knowledge that make this geography distinct.

How We Work

The editorial principles behind every article.

Every article published in Drenvak Notebook passes through a consistent editorial process: a second review before publication, source citations where published research is referenced, and a clear distinction between the writer's personal observation and the evidence base they are drawing from.

The publication does not accept sponsored content, affiliate relationships, or commercial arrangements that could influence the selection or framing of subject matter. Independence is the foundation on which the editorial perspective rests.

01 — Independence

Drenvak Notebook is not affiliated with any commercial, governmental, or institutional body. No content is produced under commercial influence.

02 — Evidence-Informed

Articles are reviewed against published wellness and nutritional research. Where evidence is limited, this is noted explicitly in the copy.

03 — Observational, Not Prescriptive

The publication documents what writers observe and what research supports. It does not prescribe routines, directives, or outcomes for any individual reader.
